المملكة تساهم في الاجتماع الخامس للتحالف الدولي لدعم حل الدولتين بالرباط

On September 25, 2024, Saudi Arabia participated in the fifth meeting of the International Coalition for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. This meeting was co-chaired by Morocco and the Netherlands and was initially launched by Saudi Arabia, Norway, and the European Union during a high-level gathering presided over by Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, in New York.

Representing the Kingdom at this significant meeting in Rabat were Dr. Manal Radwan, an advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Advisor Mohammed Al-Harbi. The meeting brought together numerous representatives from member states of the coalition, alongside various international organizations. The central theme of this assembly was “Sustaining Momentum for the Peace Process: Lessons Learned, Success Stories, and Next Steps.”

This gathering was part of a series of previous meetings organized by the coalition, which had commenced in Riyadh and subsequently occurred in Brussels, Oslo, and Cairo. The overarching objective of these meetings is to coordinate international efforts aimed at advancing the two-state solution and fostering peace in the Middle East.

The Rabat meeting specifically aimed to facilitate preparations for an upcoming high-level conference scheduled to take place in New York from June 17 to 20, 2025. This forthcoming conference will also be co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, emphasizing the ongoing commitment of these nations to collaboratively address the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The coalition’s efforts underscore a collective aspiration to re-energize the peace process. As the dynamics of the Middle East continue to evolve, the importance of sustained international dialogue and cooperative initiatives becomes increasingly vital. Member states recognize the necessity of sharing experiences and successes while identifying actionable steps that can lead to tangible advancements in the quest for a lasting resolution.

This fifth meeting serves as a pivotal step in reaffirming the coalition’s commitment to resolving long-standing disputes and establishing a framework that supports both Israeli and Palestinian aspirations for statehood. By fostering an environment conducive to dialogue and cooperation, the coalition endeavors to create an atmosphere that is more favorable for peace negotiations.

As the international community looks ahead to the high-level conference in June 2025, the discussions held in Rabat are expected to lay the groundwork for more concrete proposals and strategies. The lessons learned from past interactions, along with successful initiatives documented in previous meetings, will provide valuable insights that can be utilized in future negotiations.

In conclusion, the recent gathering in Rabat reflects a strategic continuation of the coalition’s mission to implement a two-state solution. Through collaborative leadership and sustained engagement among member states and international organizations, the prospects for peace in the region are bolstered. The road ahead may be challenging, but the commitment to dialogue, shared learning, and proactive measures offers a promising pathway toward realizing the long-desired peace in the Middle East.
