Commercial Records Surge by 48% in First Quarter of 2025 with 154,000 New Registrations Issued

The quarterly business sector report for the first quarter of 2025 issued by the Ministry of Commerce revealed a 48% growth in commercial registrations compared to the same period in 2024. The report highlighted the development of the legislative environment with the implementation of the commercial register and trade names systems, aiming to ease business operations and reduce financial burdens by allowing businesses to operate under a single commercial registration across the Kingdom.

During the mentioned period, over 154,000 commercial registrations were issued, bringing the total number of commercial registrations to more than 1.68 million across all regions in the Kingdom. The report also shed light on the growth in promising sectors, such as virtual reality technologies, cloud computing, film and television production, remote care centers, automobile services and maintenance, travel agencies, hotels, and other promising activities in line with Vision 2030.

Furthermore, the report addressed e-commerce registrations, which play a significant role in the national economy, showing a 6% increase compared to the same quarter of the previous year, with a total of 41,322 commercial registrations.
