مبادرة ‘طريق مكة’: خطوة ثورية نحو تسريع إجراءات الحج

Saudi Arabia Prioritizes the Care of Pilgrims with "Makkah Route" Initiative
Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Saleh, the Saudi ambassador to Morocco, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia places great importance on the well-being of pilgrims. This commitment is exemplified by the "Makkah Route" initiative, a key program implemented by the Ministry of Interior under the larger framework of the Saudi Vision 2030 strategy. This initiative aims to streamline the Hajj process and ensure a smooth journey for pilgrims traveling from their home countries to Saudi Arabia.
The ambassador noted that the initiative has received a warm reception in Morocco, highlighting its significance. Through the "Makkah Route," pilgrims are able to complete all necessary formalities before their departure, including the electronic issuance of Hajj visas, collecting biometric data, and fulfilling passport procedures at Mohammed V International Airport. This pre-departure processing significantly reduces the time and effort required upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, contributing to a more seamless travel experience.
Moreover, the "Makkah Route" initiative goes beyond just administrative efficiencies; it includes the systematic handling and tagging of luggage to ensure that it is delivered directly to the designated accommodations for pilgrims in both Makkah and Madinah. This aspect showcases the integrated coordination among various authorities and enhances the overall experience by expediting the completion of procedures.
Ambassador Al-Saleh emphasized that the Ministry of Interior’s execution of this initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s dedication to utilizing both technological and human resources in the service of pilgrims. It aligns with the goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, which designates the service of pilgrims as a strategic priority. He regarded the "Makkah Route" as an exceptional model in facilitating the Hajj experience, aimed at providing high-quality services that improve organization and ease the journey from the moment of departure through to the accommodation in the Kingdom.
It is noteworthy that this is the seventh year of the "Makkah Route" initiative’s implementation, in collaboration with various other ministries and agencies. These include the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media, as well as the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the General Authority of Zakat and Tax, the Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority for Endowments, and the Guests of God Service Program, along with the Directorate General of Passports.
Through this collective effort, Saudi Arabia underscores its commitment to enhancing the pilgrimage experience, ensuring that every aspect of the Hajj is as efficient and comfortable as possible. The ongoing dedication to upgrades and innovations within the initiative not only reflects the Kingdom’s readiness to embrace modernity but also its deep-rooted cultural and religious respect for the millions traveling to perform Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam.
In conclusion, the "Makkah Route" initiative serves as a prime example of Saudi Arabia’s determination to faithfully serve its guests and to facilitate a memorable pilgrimage experience. This strategic approach is not only a reflection of national pride but also a commitment to honoring the traditions of Hajj, making it easier for Muslims worldwide to embark on this spiritual journey with peace of mind.
