Defense Minister Meets with US Secretary of State in a High-Level Diplomatic Encounter

The Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, met with the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, at the State Department in Washington, D.C. During the meeting, they discussed the historical Saudi-American relations and the shared vision of both countries in addressing common challenges to achieve international security and peace. Additionally, they talked about a number of issues of mutual interest and the efforts being made to address them.

Princess Reema bint Bandar, the Saudi Ambassador to the United States, and Prince Yazid bin Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Farhan, the Foreign Ministry Advisor for Lebanese Affairs, also attended the meeting along with Dr. Khalid bin Hussein Al-Biari, the Assistant Defense Minister for Executive Affairs, Khalid bin Fareed Haddarawi, the Royal Court Advisor, Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, and Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, the Director General of the Defense Minister’s Office.

On the American side, Michael Anton, the Director of Policy and Planning at the State Department, Tim Lindnerking, the top official in the Near East Affairs Office at the State Department, and James Holtsnider, the top official in the Military Political Affairs Office at the State Department were all present at the meeting.
