Interior Minister Meets with Syrian Counterpart for Key Discussions

In a significant meeting aimed at bolstering security collaboration, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the Minister of Interior, met today with the esteemed Syrian Minister of Interior, Anas Khattab. This official gathering took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jeddah.

At the commencement of the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz warmly welcomed Minister Khattab and his accompanying delegation, emphasizing the importance of their visit. He explained that the discussions were inspired by the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, both committed to fostering strong ties and enhancing security protocols between Saudi Arabia and Syria. Additionally, the gathering included the Director of the Minister’s Office for Studies and Research, Major General Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Arwan, and the Director General of Passports, overseeing the Ministry of Interior’s Civil Status Agency, Major General Dr. Saleh bin Saad Al-Muraba, along with Ahmad bin Suleiman Al-Issa, the Director General of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation.

From the Syrian side, the delegation included Colonel Ziad Fawaz Al-Ayash, the Assistant Minister of Interior; Engineer Ahmad Hafaar, the Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs; Dr. Hussein Salman, the Director of Training and Rehabilitation; Colonel Fadi Al-Hamish, the Director of Traffic Administration; along with other senior officials from the Syrian Ministry of Interior.

The discussions underscored both nations’ commitment to strengthening their bilateral relations, particularly in the context of heightened security cooperation.
