Counter-Narcotics Operations in Asir Region Lead to Multiple Arrests

The General Directorate for Drug Control has successfully apprehended four nationals in the Asir region for their involvement in the distribution of 33,450 tablets regulated under medical trading laws. Following their arrest, the individuals were detained, and legal proceedings have commenced against them, with their cases being forwarded to the Public Prosecution.

In a separate operation, border patrol units operating in the Rabu’ah sector of Asir captured three Ethiopian nationals for violating border security regulations. These individuals were found attempting to smuggle 30 kilograms of the narcotic plant qat. Preliminary legal procedures have been initiated against them, and both the suspects and the seized substances have been transferred to the relevant authorities for further action.

The authorities are urging citizens and residents to report any information regarding narcotics trafficking or smuggling activities. They can do so by contacting emergency services via "911" in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and "999" in other parts of the Kingdom. Additionally, reports can be made to the General Directorate for Drug Control at "995," or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be handled with utmost confidentiality, ensuring the safety and anonymity of the informants.

These recent actions reflect the government’s continued commitment to combating drug-related crimes and maintaining public safety, highlighting the significant role that community vigilance plays in these efforts.
