On a recent occasion, the Chairman of the Watering for Hajj Committee in the Makkah region, Ayyad bin Abdullah bin Durham, announced the launch of the “Hajj Water Project” for the current year 1446 AH. This initiative aims to provide 15 million chilled water bottles for pilgrims attending Hajj, ensuring their access to hydration at key locations including the holy sites, entry points to the Grand Mosque, places where pilgrims don their ihram garments, and at airports.

This announcement was made during the inauguration of the “Voluntary Watering Forum for Hajj,” held yesterday, which saw the presence of numerous leaders passionate about volunteer work. In his address, bin Durham expressed gratitude towards the government led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for its unwavering support in serving the pilgrims. He emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of guests of Allah, enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and safety, all within a collaborative framework involving various governmental, charitable, and private sectors.

Bin Durham also highlighted the vital role of the Non-Profit Sector Development Center in promoting quality charitable efforts aimed at assisting pilgrims, aligning with the goals of Vision 2030. This initiative reflects the Kingdom’s broader commitment to enhancing the Hajj experience and providing exceptional services to pilgrims from around the globe.

The forum was deemed crucial for establishing a sustainable volunteer strategy, aiming to maximize the potential of volunteers within a cohesive operational framework. It promotes the use of a dedicated volunteer platform, paving the way for fostering and spreading a culture of volunteering in this significant religious undertaking.

Recognizing the importance of coordinated efforts in serving the pilgrims, bin Durham pointed out that the event brings together various segments of society, encouraging collaborative actions that ultimately contribute to a seamless Hajj experience. Such initiatives not only reflect the commitment of the Saudi government but also the spirit of the community in embracing volunteerism as a means to support those undertaking this profound spiritual journey.

In conclusion, the “Hajj Water Project” stands as a testament to the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the Hajj experience. By ensuring that pilgrims are adequately hydrated, the initiative supports their physical well-being, allowing them to focus on their spiritual obligations. This project, along with the initiatives discussed at the Voluntary Watering Forum, underscores the collective responsibility of various stakeholders in providing exemplary service to the guests of Allah, further solidifying the Kingdom’s role as a leader in Hajj offerings and care for its pilgrims. Through the continued promotion of volunteer work and community involvement, the Kingdom is setting a benchmark that aligns with its Vision 2030 goals, ensuring that every pilgrim receives the care and attention they deserve during their sacred journey.
