مبادرة طريق مكة تحقق إنجازًا تاريخيًا بتجاوز عدد المستفيدين من الحجاج مليون حاج منذ انطلاقها

In a continued demonstration of the Kingdom’s commitment to serving the guests of Allah, the Ministry of Interior announced that over one million pilgrims have benefited from the “Makkah Route” initiative since its inception. This program is part of a broader set of initiatives being implemented for the seventh consecutive year, in collaboration with various ministries, including Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, Media, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority for Awqaf, the Pilgrims Service Program, and the General Directorate of Passports.

The “Makkah Route” initiative is a vital component of the Pilgrims Service Program, one of the key projects under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This initiative has significantly streamlined the process of welcoming pilgrims, allowing for the delivery of high-quality services and enhancing the honor associated with serving them. It utilizes well-trained national staff proficient in multiple languages and modern technologies to create a comprehensive and spiritually uplifting experience for pilgrims arriving from eleven airports across seven countries.

This year, the initiative is operational in Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Morocco, Turkey, and Ivory Coast. Its primary goal is to simplify the pilgrimage process by facilitating the completion of various procedures within the pilgrims’ home countries. The process begins with capturing biometric data and electronically issuing pilgrimage visas. This is followed by the expedited processing of passports at the airport of departure, ensuring compliance with health requirements.

Moreover, the initiative includes an efficient baggage handling system that sorts and labels luggage based on transportation and accommodation arrangements in Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims are directly transported to buses that will take them to their accommodations in the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah, utilizing dedicated routes. Meanwhile, partner organizations are responsible for the transportation of the pilgrims’ baggage to their respective destinations.

The “Makkah Route” initiative not only reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing dedication to enhancing the pilgrimage experience but also highlights its strategic efforts under Vision 2030. This ambitious plan seeks to further promote Saudi Arabia as a distinguished global destination for Islamic pilgrimage, bolstering its reputation while ensuring that the needs of pilgrims are met effectively and efficiently.

By integrating advanced technology and a collaborative approach among various governmental bodies, the Kingdom is able to offer an unparalleled level of service to the millions who partake in these sacred journeys each year. The coordination among multiple ministries and agencies signifies a comprehensive commitment to fulfilling the religious and logistical needs of pilgrims.

In essence, the “Makkah Route” initiative exemplifies the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to its role in facilitating the pilgrimage, thereby enhancing the spiritual experience for many while respecting the dignity and needs of each individual. The initiative not only aims to uplift the standard of service but also to create a memorable and hassle-free experience for those traveling to perform Hajj or Umrah.

As Saudi Arabia continues to position itself as a leading hub for religious tourism, the dedication displayed through such initiatives will likely resonate with pilgrims worldwide, fostering a deeper connection and further solidifying the Kingdom’s role as a beacon for Muslim travelers. The efforts put forth through the “Makkah Route” not only assist in accommodating the needs of millions but also serve to highlight the profound respect and reverence the Kingdom has for its duty to serve the guests of Allah.
