موانئ تعلن استعدادها الكامل لاستقبال ضيوف الرحمن عبر ميناء جدة الإسلامي

The General Authority for Ports, known as “Mawani,” has successfully completed its operational plans and preparations for welcoming pilgrims to the Grand Mosque through Jeddah Islamic Port. This initiative includes a comprehensive array of operational services designed to facilitate the smooth movement and reception of pilgrims as they arrive and depart, adhering to the directives of the leadership, which emphasizes ease and efficiency in these critical processes.

Mawani’s plans involve the deployment of human resources at Jeddah Islamic Port dedicated to serving the needs of the pilgrims. Key provisions include the establishment of 100 passport check counters, the availability of 300 luggage carts for passenger convenience, the use of nine tugboats for the guidance and berthing of vessels, and 12 supportive marine units for additional assistance. Furthermore, there will be 24 security and safety patrols, 13 ambulances and firefighting vehicles, and 11 health and medical facilities ready to tend to any emergencies. The arrival and departure halls have been specifically outfitted to accommodate over 5,000 pilgrims, with additional assistance available for the elderly and those with medical needs.

This year, Mawani is rolling out three major initiatives designed to ease the experience for the pilgrims. The first of these is the “Bagless Pilgrim Service,” which enables the transportation and shipping of pilgrims’ luggage directly from their ship to the buses after customs inspection, without the need for additional customs processing. The second initiative, titled “Depart Without Luggage,” allows for baggage to be sent to the shipping agent’s location 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure, significantly easing the flow for the pilgrims and ensuring a quicker, more streamlined journey.

The third initiative, “Path for Livestock for Sacrifice and Offering,” aims to allow livestock transport trucks under the “Sacrifice and Offering Program” to pass through Jeddah Islamic Port into Mecca, even during the designated truck entry ban periods. This coordination with relevant authorities is intended to save considerable time while further supporting the logistical efforts to enhance the pilgrim’s comfort.

Additionally, Jeddah Islamic Port plays a crucial logistical role in managing various goods, including essential food and medical supplies necessary for the Hajj season. The port is anticipated to receive approximately 2.6 million livestock during this time to ensure that the pilgrims have access to the required offerings for sacrifice, while also meeting the needs of the local market.

In summary, the preparations underway at Jeddah Islamic Port are a testament to Mawani’s commitment to facilitating the Hajj pilgrimage. Through strategic planning and coordination with various agencies, the authority is working diligently to ensure that each pilgrim’s experience is seamless, safe, and comfortable, fulfilling the broader goals of accessibility and support during this significant religious observance. This holistic approach not only addresses the logistical challenges presented by large influxes of pilgrims but also enhances the overall pilgrimage experience, allowing devotees to focus on their spiritual journey with minimal distractions.
