Border Guard patrols in Asir and Jazan regions foil smuggling of 625 kg of illicit qat plant

Border Guard patrols in the Rub’ Al-Khali sector of Asir region have successfully stopped the smuggling of 100 kilograms of the narcotic plant qat. The necessary legal procedures were carried out, and the confiscated items were handed over to the authorities.
Additionally, the Border Guard patrols in the Rub’ Al-Khali sector of Asir region apprehended 27 Ethiopian nationals for attempting to smuggle 405 kilograms of qat. Legal procedures were initiated against them, and they, along with the seized items, were handed over to the relevant authorities.
Furthermore, Border Guard patrols in the Dahir sector of Jazan region arrested five Ethiopian nationals for smuggling 120 kilograms of qat. Legal procedures were followed, and they and the confiscated items were handed over to the appropriate authorities.
Authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information they may have about drug smuggling or trafficking activities. This can be done by contacting the numbers 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 or 994 in other regions of the Kingdom.
