The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia is set to participate in the 55th Paris Air Show, taking place from June 16 to 22 at the Le Bourget exhibition center in the French capital. This involvement is part of a broader initiative that includes various entities within the ministry’s framework, comprising the National Industrial Development Center, the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, and the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, known as “Modon.”

The ministry’s pavilion was inaugurated by the Assistant Minister for Industrial Development, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Majid Al-Ahmadi, who was joined by His Excellency Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohaly, the Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries. During the inauguration, they explored the pavilion’s offerings, which include comprehensive information and promotional materials related to the National Aviation Industry Strategy, highlighting incentives and capabilities designed to attract foreign investments to the aviation sector in the Kingdom.

The ministry’s participation in the exhibition is not merely for representation; it aims to showcase the National Aviation Industry Strategy and its objectives, along with the incentives and support systems put in place to nurture and advance the aviation industry in Saudi Arabia. The pavilion also emphasizes promising investment and industrial opportunities within the aviation domain, while promoting synergy between governmental entities and the private sector. These concerted efforts are geared towards attracting advanced technologies and fostering the localization of industries linked to this vital sector, aligning with the goals outlined in the Saudi Vision 2030.

This participation seeks to spotlight the country’s increasingly robust capabilities in aviation, as well as the initiatives designed to draw investments and develop domestic talent. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to establishing a diverse and sustainable economy through the localization of strategic industries, enhancing their role in the national GDP.

On the sidelines of the Paris Air Show, the ministry took part in a Saudi-French roundtable meeting, which included representatives from leading French companies specializing in the civil aviation sector. Key figures present at the meeting included CEOs, the Vice President of Aviation Safety and Environmental Sustainability, and various officials and specialists in the fields of aviation, airports, and related services, with participation from over 65 governmental and private entities from both sides.

During this engagement, the Saudi delegation presented the National Aviation Industry Strategy, clarifying its benefits and objectives while reinforcing the nation’s aspiration to become a regional and global hub in the aviation field.

Additionally, the ministry’s delegation, along with its affiliated organizations, visited the Airbus commercial aircraft manufacturing plant located in Toulouse, France. This visit was aimed at gaining insights into the latest aircraft manufacturing technologies and enhancing the potential for industrial collaboration between the two parties.

The Paris Air Show, renowned as one of the largest and most significant exhibitions in the aviation and aerospace sectors, features more than 2,500 exhibitors from 46 countries. It attracts thousands of specialists and professionals from civil and military aviation, aerospace, and defense. Among the various showcases, the event includes 300 startups from 21 nations and displays over 150 aircraft, complemented by daily air shows that highlight the latest advancements in aviation technology.
