Meeting Between Interior Minister and Madinah Governor Highlights Development Initiatives
His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, held a significant meeting today with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of the Madinah region, at the Governorate’s headquarters. This engagement underscores the ongoing commitment of the Saudi leadership to the development and safety of all regions within the Kingdom.
During the meeting, Minister Abdulaziz emphasized that his visit to Madinah is in direct alignment with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Prime Minister. He elaborated that their unwavering focus is aimed at ensuring the security, safety, and welfare of citizens, residents, and visitors alike. The minister highlighted that access to the best possible services for visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque is paramount, reflecting the leadership’s dedication to enhancing the experiences of those who come to this sacred site.
Minister Abdulaziz also acknowledged the remarkable and rapid progress that Madinah has been experiencing, crediting the city’s development to the wise leadership and the continuous oversight from the Amir of Madinah. The growth of the area is not only about infrastructure but is also indicative of a broader effort to enhance the quality of life for its inhabitants and enhance visitor experiences.
In response, Prince Salman, the Governor, expressed his deep appreciation for the relentless efforts exerted by the Ministry of Interior in ensuring national security and the safety of all citizens and visitors across the Kingdom. He praised the high level of professionalism exhibited by the Ministry’s security sectors, particularly in managing the crowds drawn to the Prophet’s Mosque. This aspect of security is critical, especially during peak times when thousands gather for prayer and pilgrimage.
Following their engaging discussions, Minister Abdulaziz was presented with a documentary film that narrated the various developments taking place in Madinah across multiple fields. This visual representation showcased the transformation of the region, emphasizing its growth and modernization, further illustrating the positive changes being made to foster development.
Moreover, he was briefed on several essential initiatives undertaken by the Emirate of the region. These initiatives include the Comprehensive Government Services Center, the Economic Development Center, and the Support Center for the Non-Profit Sector. Each of these projects is aimed at streamlining processes, fostering economic opportunities, and enhancing the overall infrastructure of services available to both residents and visitors.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Falih, the Assistant Minister of Interior; Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Batal, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; and Major General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Basami, the Director of Public Security. Other notable attendees included Major General Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Irawan, the Director General of the Minister’s Office for Studies and Research, and Rear Admiral Mansour bin Nasser Al-Faiz, the Commander of Special Security for Protection. The deputy Undersecretary for Security Affairs, Major General Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Faris, along with Colonel Talal bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Shalhoub, the Director of the General Administration for Media and Institutional Communication were also present.
