Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh, honored the celebration of the U.S. Embassy in the Kingdom on the occasion of their National Day at the embassy in Riyadh. He was received by Charge d’Affaires Allison Dalton and a number of staff upon his arrival at the event. The event was attended by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Protocol Affairs Undersecretary Abdulmajeed Al-Samari, as well as accredited members of the diplomatic corps in the Kingdom.
The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh hosted a celebration on Tuesday, April 22nd to commemorate the 249th anniversary of U.S. independence under the theme “Beautiful America.” Allison Dalton, the Charge d’Affaires, welcomed distinguished guests including government officials, business leaders, academics, and cultural figures in an evening that embodied the strong friendship between the United States and the Kingdom.
During her speech at the event, Dalton emphasized the importance of the occasion, praising the natural beauty of both countries, shared interests, and growing bonds of friendship between their peoples. She stated, “I am honored to welcome you all tonight to the embassy to celebrate America’s 249th birthday. Although Independence Day is officially celebrated on the 4th of July, here in Riyadh, we gather in spring to enjoy beautiful evenings like this and celebrate the beauty that our countries are proud of.”
Dalton expressed admiration for the diverse natural beauty in Saudi Arabia and the hospitality that characterizes the Saudi people. She said, “From the azure waters of the Red Sea to the roses of Taif and the green mountains of Abha, the beauty of the Kingdom is unforgettable – and what truly makes these places special is the generosity of the Saudi people.”
She highlighted the deep cultural and personal ties that unite the two countries, saying, “I often meet Saudis who fondly remember their time in the United States, from hiking in Yellowstone National Park to surfing in California, and enjoying the beauty of Chicago’s skyline. These experiences are a testament to the strength of the bonds between our peoples.”
The evening celebrated the growing areas of cooperation between the United States and the Kingdom, including trade, energy, innovation, artificial intelligence, entertainment, and space. The event included designs inspired by famous American landscapes, as well as food, music, and performances showcasing the diversity of American culture and the depth of shared aspirations between the two countries.
The celebration served as a reminder of the deep friendship between the two nations and their shared vision for a prosperous future.
