HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired the Cabinet session in Jeddah today. The session began with a review of the state’s achievements in economic, cultural, and social development, emphasizing the ongoing plans and programs aimed at enhancing the overall progress and benefiting the nation and its citizens.
The Cabinet discussed measures to balance the real estate sector in Riyadh, addressing the recent spikes in land prices and rent. They highlighted the significance of new oil and gas discoveries in the Eastern Region and the Empty Quarter, bolstering the Kingdom’s economic standing and energy capabilities for future demands.
Minister of Media, Salman bin Yousif Al-Dosari, expressed the Cabinet’s satisfaction with the Kingdom’s international rankings, underscoring the state’s unwavering support for all sectors to sustain qualitative leaps in global competitiveness and leadership.
The Cabinet praised Saudi entities and students for their awards at the Geneva International Expo, aligning with the national focus on innovation and prosperity. They also commended the outcomes of the Human Capability Initiative conference in Riyadh, aiming to foster international cooperation and achieve Vision 2030 targets.
Furthermore, the Cabinet addressed regional and international developments, promoting collaborative efforts and support for stability and humanitarian relief globally. They welcomed international support for the Palestinian issue and emphasized the immediate return to ceasefire in Gaza to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery.
The Cabinet approved various agreements and memoranda, including mutual legal assistance pacts, visa exemptions for diplomats, environmental cooperation agreements, and health and education collaborations with Iran and South Korea, among others. They also endorsed tax avoidance treaties with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Croatia, information exchange deals, and joining the Tampere Convention for disaster communications.
Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned the opening of an Indonesian Sharia bank branch, continued visa fee waivers for seasonal Hajj workers, and the establishment of a financial fraud complaints operations center. They also approved financial reports for regulatory authorities and personnel promotions within government ministries and regions.
In conclusion, the Cabinet reviewed reports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, the Royal Commission for AlUla, the Red Sea Development Company, and the Social Development Bank, taking necessary actions on these matters.
