Border Patrol in Jazan Region Foils Attempt to Smuggle 162 kg of Narcotic Khat Plants

Border patrols in the Al-Dayer sector of Jazan region foiled two separate attempts to smuggle a total of 162 kilograms of the narcotic plant qat. In the first incident, 108 kilograms were seized, while in the second incident, 54 kilograms were confiscated. Three individuals, of Yemeni and Ethiopian nationalities, were arrested for their involvement in the smuggling operations. All suspects and seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
Citizens and residents are urged to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking activities to the authorities. This can be done by calling “911” in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or “999” and “994” in other regions of the Kingdom. Reports can also be made to the General Directorate for Narcotics Control at “995” or via email at “995@gdnc.gov.sa”. All reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
