Industry Conducts 1411 Inspection Rounds on Mining Sites Across the Kingdom in February 2025

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, represented by the agency overseeing mining operations, revealed that its regulatory teams conducted 1411 inspection rounds at various mining sites across the kingdom in February. During these inspections, 1226 warnings were issued to sites violating the mining investment regulations, in line with the principle of issuing warnings before declaring violations.
The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Jirrah bin Mohammed Al-Jirrah, explained that the inspection rounds carried out in February included 411 in Riyadh, 352 in the Eastern region, 219 in Mecca, 105 in Qassim, 103 in Al-Madinah, 60 in Asir, 53 in Tabuk, 38 in Jazan, 24 in Hail, as well as 20 in Najran, 12 in Al-Jawf, 11 in the Northern Borders, and 3 in Al-Baha.
Al-Jirrah emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to continuing these monitoring rounds to ensure compliance with mining activities, protecting the sector from irregular practices, and preserving mineral resources for optimal utilization. This also aims to safeguard communities adjacent to mining areas in accordance with the mining investment regulations.
The Ministry aims to maximize the value derived from mineral resources in the kingdom, enhance the attractiveness of the mining sector as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, and contribute to diversifying non-oil national income sources. The estimated value of mineral resources in the kingdom is approximately 9.3 trillion Saudi Riyals spread across more than 5300 sites.
