Saudi Arabia Ranks Among Top 55 Global Economies

The “Global Intellectual Property Index 2025” report, released by the American Chamber of Commerce, revealed a significant leap for Saudi Arabia with a 17.55% overall increase in ranking. This places the kingdom among the top countries in terms of progress out of 55 economies included in the report, showcasing its commitment to enhancing the intellectual property environment and fostering innovation as per the goals of Vision 2030.
The report highlighted a series of improvements in the legislative and regulatory environment for intellectual property in the Kingdom. Key enhancements include extending the protection period for designs to 15 years, establishing a specialized prosecution office for intellectual property issues, and strengthening electronic enforcement of copyright and trademark rights. These initiatives contributed to raising the overall ranking of the Kingdom from 36.6% in 2019 to 53.7% in 2025, with a cumulative increase exceeding 40% over just six years.
This progress is a result of the efforts of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and relevant entities in building an integrated system that enhances the confidence of investors and innovators. It underscores the Kingdom’s position and rising status in the creative and knowledge-based economy.
