Today, the National Center of Meteorology has forecasted thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rainfall, causing flash floods in several regions of Saudi Arabia. The rain is expected to be accompanied by hail showers and strong winds that may stir up dust and sand in areas including Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, Makkah, Al Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, and Hail.
The report also mentioned that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to northerly in the northern and central parts, and southerly to southeasterly in the southern part at speeds of 12-35 km/h, reaching 45 km/h towards the Bab al-Mandab strait. Wave heights are expected to range from half a meter to one and a half meters, with sea conditions ranging from light to moderate waves. On the other hand, surface winds over the Arabian Gulf will be northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 15-35 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea conditions ranging from light to moderate waves.
