Minister of Industry concludes official visit to Indonesia

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, has concluded a three-day official visit to Indonesia, aiming to strengthen economic relations and cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors, as well as attract quality investments to the Kingdom.
During the visit, Alkhorayef held high-level bilateral meetings with top officials from the Indonesian government, including the Special Presidential Envoy for Energy and Environment Affairs, the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Minister of Investment and Industrial Estates, and the CEO of the Export-Import Bank. These meetings focused on expanding cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors, sharing knowledge in manufacturing and mining operations, and promoting economic diversity and sustainable development in both Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
Alkhorayef also met with leaders of various Indonesian industrial and mining companies, such as MIND ID, PT Vale, Indofood, and Bio Pharma, discussing investment opportunities and incentives provided by the Kingdom to facilitate investors’ journey. Furthermore, he participated in a roundtable meeting with major Indonesian companies and attended a workshop with mining companies to explore mutual investment potentials in the industrial and mining sectors.
During the visit, Alkhorayef signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to enhance cooperation in the mining sector. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the CEOs of the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Indonesian Export-Import Bank to support exporters and facilitate exports between the two countries.
The Minister also visited the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indonesian Digital Industry Center PIDI 4.0 to learn about their experiences in enabling research and innovation in the industrial and mining sectors. Discussions were held on opportunities for joint cooperation in industrial innovation, scientific research, and advanced technologies.
This official visit aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of becoming a leading industrial power and a global hub for mining and minerals. It emphasizes building effective international partnerships, transferring knowledge and advanced technologies, exchanging expertise, and attracting quality investments to the industrial and mining sectors.
