منظمة “مسام” تزيل 955 لغمًا خطيرًا في اليمن خلال أسبوع

During the second week of April 2025, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre’s “Masam” project successfully cleared 955 mines in various areas of Yemen. These mines included one anti-personnel mine, 24 anti-tank mines, 913 unexploded ordnances, and 17 explosive devices.
In Aden, the “Masam” team removed 851 unexploded ordnances and 17 improvised explosive devices. In Hodeidah, they cleared one anti-personnel mine in the Hais directorate, and one unexploded ordnance in the Khokha directorate. In Lahj, three unexploded ordnances were cleared in the Wahat directorate, and one anti-tank mine was removed in the Mudharrab directorate.
In Marib, the team successfully cleared one anti-tank mine in the Ragwan directorate, as well as 19 anti-tank mines and one unexploded ordnance in the Marib directorate. In Shabwa, one unexploded ordnance was removed in the Asilan directorate, and another in the Ayn directorate. In Taiz, the team cleared 34 unexploded ordnances in the Maqah directorate, three anti-tank mines and 17 unexploded ordnances in the Zabab directorate, and four unexploded ordnances in the Maswafer directorate.
This brings the total number of mines cleared in April so far to 1,498, with a total of 487,606 mines cleared since the start of the “Masam” project. These mines had been planted indiscriminately throughout Yemen, endangering the lives of innocent civilians, especially children, women, and the elderly, and sowing fear among the population.
