Minister of Industry discusses enhancing strategic cooperation in mining sector with US Energy Secretary

The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, held official talks today with the US Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, at the ministry’s headquarters. The discussions focused on strengthening strategic relations in the mining and minerals sector, with the Deputy Minister for Mining Affairs, Khaled Almadeef, also in attendance.
The meeting addressed expanding cooperation in the mining sector, emphasizing the importance of the minerals industry in the energy transition, advanced technology manufacturing, and modern economies linked to clean energy. Additionally, the discussions highlighted the significance of the minerals industry in the production of electric vehicles and their components.
Both parties discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation, unique investment opportunities in both countries, and the potential for utilizing these opportunities to deepen their historical partnership. Alkhorayef invited the US Energy Secretary to attend the 2026 International Mining Conference, scheduled to take place in Riyadh next year.
