Human capital drives and grows wealth

In a recent conference in Riyadh focusing on human capabilities, Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Al-Ibrahim stressed the importance of investing in human capital as a key decision for nations. He highlighted that human capital is the main driver of wealth creation, contributing to its growth and sustainability. He commended Saudi Vision 2030 as a model of bold leadership that has implemented essential plans with optimism and wisdom.
The Minister emphasized that challenges related to human capacity development are no longer secondary issues but are at the core of economic transformations. He underscored the importance of reskilling and providing individuals with new skills as essential elements for achieving growth in the future. He also pointed out that building institutional capacities correctly, along with investing in human capital development, are key factors for long-term sustainable success, urging national and international efforts to focus on these aspects.
Al-Ibrahim concluded by stating that the education system in Saudi Arabia is continuously improving under Saudi Vision 2030, with a notable increase in women’s participation. He emphasized the importance of enhancing critical thinking skills and addressing challenges with diverse solutions. He called for prioritizing human capacity development, as the desired returns from investments in infrastructure or technology cannot be achieved without qualified competencies to lead them.
