Ministry of Defense to Host Eighth Meeting of Chiefs of Staff from Member States of “Dragon” Group

The Ministry of Defense in Riyadh hosted the eighth meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of member countries of the “Dragon” group today. The meeting was attended by Chiefs of Staff and representatives from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Iraq, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in addition to the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

During the meeting, which was opened by His Excellency the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, topics of common interest were discussed, including counter-terrorism, developments in the Palestinian territories, the importance of delivering humanitarian aid, and efforts to reduce regional escalation.

Participants emphasized the importance of maritime security and protection of navigation, ensuring the security and safety of waterways, and enhancing efforts to combat smuggling and piracy.
