Tourism Authorities in Mecca Tighten Accommodation Regulations, Prohibiting Guests Without Hajj Permits

The Ministry of Tourism has emphasized the ban on accommodating individuals in Mecca who do not have a Hajj permit or a permit to enter the city for work or residency during the Hajj season. This restriction will be implemented from 1st of Dhu al-Qi’dah 1446 AH, corresponding to April 29, 2025, until the end of the Hajj season. This directive aligns with the interior ministry’s arrangements to ensure the safety of pilgrims and facilitate their pilgrimage smoothly and securely. Non-Hajj visa holders are not permitted to enter or stay in Mecca, except for those holding a Hajj visa, starting from Tuesday, 1st of Dhu al-Qi’dah 1446 AH, which is April 29, 2025.
The Ministry has instructed hospitality facilities to strictly abide by the interior ministry’s announcement during the specified period to ensure the safety and security of the Hajj pilgrimage. This is part of the comprehensive efforts by the Ministry in coordination with other government entities in preparation for the Hajj season of 1446 AH. All hospitality facilities in Mecca, of all types, are required to adhere to the organized arrangements and measures for this year’s Hajj season and cooperate with relevant authorities to ensure the safety of the guests. It is emphasized that violating these instructions will result in legal penalties for the offenders.
