King Salman World Arabic Language Complex Releases Lexicon “Electric Cars Manufacturing and Maintenance”

In collaboration with the National Academy for Vehicles and Land Transport “NAFA”, and the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the King Salman International Complex for the Arabic Language launched a glossary on “Manufacturing and Maintenance of Electric Vehicles”. The launch was attended by the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, during the Complex’s participation in the “Human Capital Initiative 2025” conference.
The Secretary-General of the Complex, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, explained that the glossary aims to bridge the gap between local and international terminology in the vital sector of automotive manufacturing. It enhances translation accuracy and communication between educational and industrial entities. The project serves as a model for constructive collaboration between the Complex and national specialized entities in the fields of technology and industry.
NAFA was responsible for preparing and developing the glossary scientifically and linguistically. The Complex reviewed the linguistic content and uploaded it to the “Sowar” platform as part of its efforts to create specialized dictionaries that support the use of the Arabic language in vital sectors.
The glossary aims to provide precise and regulated terms related to electric car manufacturing and maintenance to facilitate communication between academic and industrial institutions while supporting Arabic content in the technical field. This glossary is part of the Complex’s efforts in computational linguistics and its goals to strengthen the role of the Arabic language in modern technological and industrial sectors by producing specialized content that keeps pace with global transformations and supports innovation.
The glossary includes 1000 terms related to battery systems, electric engines, smart charging, maintenance techniques, and other concepts in modern car manufacturing. It provides accurate and simplified definitions for use by both specialists and non-specialists. The glossary is planned to be updated regularly to align with rapid technological advancements in the field.
This glossary is a new addition to a series of specialized dictionaries that the Complex is developing with an advanced vision to link language to vital fields and make them available on the “Sowar” platform for lexicography. This platform enables researchers and users to access specialized lexicographical content, supporting dictionary authors in their processes of creation, updating, and publishing through the use of artificial intelligence techniques.
“Sowar” currently offers over 30 dictionaries covering various fields, with more than 280,000 reliable lexicographical entries developed in partnership with various entities, reflecting accumulated knowledge and technical expertise in lexicography. This project underscores the Complex’s commitment to empowering the Arabic language to perform its vital roles in the future of industry and innovation, providing specialized knowledge tools that contribute to developing technical content in Arabic and linking it to the needs of vital sectors in the Kingdom and the world.
