Second Edition of Human Capabilities Initiative Conference Launched in Riyadh Under the Patronage of Crown Prince

The second edition of the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) conference, themed “Preparing for the Future,” kicked off today under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, and Chairman of the Human Capability Development Program Committee. The event saw the participation of more than 300 leaders, policymakers, and global experts from academia, private, and non-profit sectors, with a global attendance from 38 countries, held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.

Minister of Education and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Human Capability Development Program, Youssef Al-Bunyan, highlighted that the second edition of the conference builds on the success of the previous one, reinforcing the Kingdom’s leading role in global dialogue on the future of human capability development. The conference featured over 100 discussion sessions across four main platforms aimed at sharing experiences, discussing best practices to enhance human readiness to keep pace with rapid changes in the world, and exploring future trends focusing on innovative models for empowering individuals and communities. Additionally, it aimed to strengthen collaboration between the public, private, and non-profit sectors to develop sustainable solutions with a significant impact on the future.

The conference agenda included hosting diverse events, such as a ministerial roundtable with the participation of 20 ministers from various countries worldwide, a meeting of the UNESCO Executive Board, and the signing of agreements and launches within the human capability development system at both local and global levels. The conference was organized by the Human Capability Development Program, one of the initiatives in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
