King Salman Relief Center Launches Medical Volunteer Projects in Syria
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has officially inaugurated four vital medical volunteer projects in Damascus, Syria. These initiatives are part of the Saudi Volunteer Program, “Aml,” aimed at providing assistance to our Syrian brothers and sisters. The projects span key medical fields, including burn treatment, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, pediatric surgery, pediatric catheterization, and specialized clinics. The projects were executed between May 10 and May 17, 2025, with the enthusiastic participation of 32 volunteers from diverse medical specialties.
Since the onset of this humanitarian campaign, the volunteer medical team has successfully treated 37 individuals in specialized clinics. Furthermore, they have conducted 20 surgeries focused on burns, deformities, and cosmetic procedures. In addition, the team performed 14 pediatric surgeries and 11 successful cardiac catheterizations, with all operations yielding favorable outcomes.
The Saudi Volunteer Program aims to conduct a total of 104 campaigns across various medical and surgical domains. In addition to surgeries, the program seeks to provide educational and training initiatives and economic empowerment projects for underprivileged populations across multiple Syrian cities.
