Makkah Bans Booking and Accommodation for All Visa Holders Except Hajj Visa starting from 1st Dhul Qa’dah

The Ministry of Tourism has issued a directive to all travel agencies, tourism services offices, and hospitality facilities in Makkah to refrain from booking or accommodating individuals holding all types of visas, except for those with a valid Hajj visa or a legitimate entry permit for work or residency during the Hajj season. This directive is effective from the 1st of Dhul Qa’dah 1446 AH, corresponding to the 29th of April 2025, until the end of the season. Violators will face legal penalties.
This directive aligns with the arrangements and measures announced by the Ministry of Interior to ensure the safety of pilgrims in the sacred city of Makkah and enable them to perform the Hajj rituals peacefully. All visa holders, except those with valid Hajj visas, are required to leave Makkah starting from the 1st of Dhul Qa’dah 1446 AH, which falls on the 29th of April 2025.
The Ministry emphasized that all hospitality facilities and online booking platforms must fully comply with the prohibition on booking or accommodating the specified categories within the designated period. This is part of the joint and integrated efforts among government agencies to ensure a safe and organized Hajj season.
Furthermore, the Ministry stressed the importance of all hospitality service providers in Makkah and online platforms to adhere to the regulations set for the Hajj season of 1446 AH and cooperate with the relevant authorities. Any violation of these instructions will result in legal repercussions for both establishments and individuals.
