Head of Shura Council Holds Official Talks with President of Pakistan’s National Assembly

Minister of Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh held an official meeting today at the council’s headquarters in Riyadh with the President of the National Assembly “Parliament” of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, during his official visit to the Kingdom.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Shura Council welcomed the President of the Pakistani National Assembly and his accompanying delegation, emphasizing the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan at various levels. He stressed the importance of enhancing these relations through effective meetings between the Shura Council and the Pakistani National Assembly to fulfill the aspirations of both countries’ leaderships and the hopes of the two brotherly peoples.

On the other hand, the President of the National Assembly praised the warm reception and hospitality he and his delegation received since their arrival in the Kingdom. He highlighted the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, commending the Kingdom’s leading and historical role in promoting solidarity in the Islamic world and serving Islam and Muslims worldwide.

During the talks, various topics of interest in all fields were discussed, along with possible areas of coordination and cooperation between the two sides, especially in strengthening parliamentary relations.

The official talks were attended by Deputy President of the Shura Council Dr. Mishal Al-Sulami, Assistant to the President of the Council Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, and the Secretary-General of the Council Mr. Mohammed Al-Mutairi. Dr. Ali Al-Shahrani, a member of the Shura Council, and Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, the head of the Saudi-Pakistani Parliamentary Friendship Committee, were also present. Other council members included Vice President of the Committee Dr. Adel Mirdad, Dr. Iman Al-Jabrini, Dr. Hassan Al-Hazmi, Engineer Salem Al-Shahrani, Dr. Aisha Zakri, Dr. Osman Hakami, Dr. Muhammad Mubarki, Dr. Muayda Al-Ghamdi, and Engineer Mahdi Al-Dosari.

The accompanying delegation of President Ayaz Sadiq included members of the Pakistani National Assembly such as Syed Naveed, Peer Syed Fadl, Taher Iqbal, Haji Jamal, Shahida Baqim, Rana Ansar, Amjad Ali Khan, and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom, Ahmed Farouq.
