Saudi Arabia represented by Deputy Minister of Human Resources participates in the 51st Arab Labor Conference in Cairo

Under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnein, Saudi Arabia is participating in the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference currently being held in Cairo, Egypt until April 26th. The delegation includes labor ministers, business owners, and workers’ representatives from Arab League member countries.

Saudi Arabia’s participation aligns with its efforts to enhance Arab cooperation in the field of labor and its leading role in supporting tripartite dialogue among governments, employers, and workers. The conference agenda covers various topics such as comprehensive social policies and their role in promoting economic integration, economic diversification strategies, sustainable development, and labor legislation to keep pace with economic and technological transformations.

Dr. Abuthnein highlighted the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s initiatives in developing the Saudi labor market, enhancing its local and global competitiveness to support economic diversity during his keynote speech at the conference’s main session. Additionally, the Saudi delegation participated in the 62nd coordination meeting of the GCC labor ministers on the sidelines of the 51st Arab Labor Conference, along with representatives from the GCC General Secretariat.

The meeting addressed common interests including updates on the GCC labor markets, the strategic framework for occupational safety and health, and discussions on collaboration with relevant international and regional organizations.
