Charity Commission Launches ‘Contribute’ Initiative to Enhance Internal Audit Role in Government Bodies

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority have launched the “Asharet” initiative, stemming from the values and vision of internal audit within the authority. The initiative aims to support the goals of government work governance, enhance the role of internal audit in governmental entities, and contribute to improving the efficiency and quality of internal audit activities through the exchange of experiences and knowledge, as well as the application of best practices and models in the field.

The initiative is based on a set of strategic values of the authority, focusing on compliance with professional standards, the integrity of and evaluation and enhancement of the internal control and self-assessment system, and the establishment of an institutional work environment that emphasizes the role of internal audit in promoting compliance with internal and external regulations and laws. Additionally, it aims to contribute to achieving the strategic goals of the authority, developing a sustainable and highly skilled audit team, achieving operational excellence, and undergoing digital transformation in internal audit operations.
