Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Visits King Fahd Causeway

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, visited the King Fahd Causeway and inspected the areas of procedures, services, and projects. He praised the wise leadership’s support for development projects, including the development of border crossings, which has reflected positively on the quality of projects and services provided to travelers through the King Fahd Causeway, one of the most important crossings in the Kingdom, witnessing a high density of travelers.
The Ambassador highlighted the high-quality services currently provided to travelers through the King Fahd Causeway, enhancing the traveler experience, reducing waiting time during peak seasons, utilizing the latest technologies to facilitate passenger movement, and commending the cooperation between government entities operating at the causeway in the two brotherly countries.
He explained that the King Fahd Causeway Authority is working to keep up with the continuous growth of travelers by implementing several projects to increase the capacity of the procedures area, such as a project to increase capacity by 50% on both sides, in addition to the comprehensive development of the passenger lounge, and the re-engineering of operational procedures to be a single stop for public transport users. These developments have seen the crossing of more than 33 million travelers in 2024, the highest since the causeway opened.
He also mentioned the digital transformation projects initiated by the authority, including the pre-payment service electronically for toll gates available 24/7, automatic vehicle recognition without the need to stop, electronic vehicle insurance, reducing stopping points, and creating a “Fast Track” lane for quick passage through the procedures areas to achieve the best experience for travelers.
