Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs Reviews Readiness for Hajj 1446 Preparations in Mecca

Today, the esteemed Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hoqail, undertook an inspection of several service facilities and on-ground sites in the holy city of Mecca. This visit was aimed at assessing the readiness of the municipal sector and its preparations to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season of 1446 AH. Accompanying the minister was the Secretary of Mecca, Mr. Musaed bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood.

During this comprehensive tour, the minister focused on the operational preparedness of emergency shelter centers overseen by the ministry. These centers are part of an integrated system designed to address emergency situations, comprising more than 10,000 tents. The facilities are bolstered by logistical and field support, alongside trained emergency response teams that are available around the clock, coordinating closely with relevant authorities.

The minister’s inspection included visits to key areas within Mena, Muzdalifah, and the Muaisem region. Throughout his tour, he evaluated the levels of readiness within various sectors, including general cleanliness, health services, and technical support. He also reviewed emergency and evacuation plans, along with mechanisms for immediate response to exceptional situations. This strategy aligns with the efforts of the Civil Defense and other security and service entities.

Mr. Al-Hoqail emphasized that his visit is in direct response to the directives of the wise leadership, which prioritizes the service of pilgrims. The government is dedicated to deploying all necessary resources to ensure the comfort and safety of the guests of Allah, right from their arrival in the sacred lands until their departure after completing the rituals.

In conclusion, this initiative reflects a longstanding commitment by the Saudi authorities to enhance the Hajj experience and ensure that all necessary infrastructure and services are in place to meet the demands of the significant influx of pilgrims. The meticulous planning and coordination involved attest to the seriousness with which the Kingdom approaches its responsibilities during this peak period. The government’s proactive measures are aimed not only at facilitating the spiritual journey of millions but also at safeguarding their well-being throughout their stay in Mecca.
