Minister of Education Collaborates with Chinese University and Institute Leaders to Enhance Academic Cooperation

Minister of Education, Yusuf bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, met with several university presidents, institutes, and research centers in the People’s Republic of China. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to China, Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, and the Ministry of Education’s Deputy Minister for International Cooperation, Dr. Nasser Al-Oqaili. The purpose of the visit was to enhance cooperation between the educational and research institutions of both countries.

The focus of the meeting was on deepening and expanding the strategic partnership between Saudi and Chinese educational and research institutions. This includes academic and research cooperation, exchange of experiences in postgraduate studies, support in research and development, connecting Saudi universities with globally advanced Chinese research centers, mutual collaboration in medical education and training, and exploring promising investment opportunities in public and private education sectors in Saudi Arabia through the “Invest in Saudi Arabia” platform.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Bunyan highlighted the potential for Chinese universities and educational institutions to invest in the Kingdom. He also discussed the possibility of establishing specialized programs for teaching the Chinese language, exchanging experiences in curriculum development, and contributing to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

The meeting also introduced the scholarship program offered by the Saudi government to Chinese students through the “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform. Furthermore, it aimed to increase opportunities for Saudi scholarship students to be accepted within the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program, especially in distinguished postgraduate programs offered by Chinese universities.
