Drug control units in Riyadh, Jazan, Asir, and Jeddah border areas foil trafficking attempts and seize varied narcotics.

The General Directorate for Drug Control arrested several individuals involved in drug trafficking across various regions in Saudi Arabia.
Firstly, a Pakistani resident in Riyadh was caught selling 3.7 kilograms of the illegal drug methamphetamine, commonly known as “shabu”. He was apprehended, subjected to legal actions, and referred to the public prosecution.
Secondly, an Ethiopian resident in Jazan was apprehended for distributing 17 kilograms of marijuana. Similar to the first case, he was arrested, legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the public prosecution.
Additionally, two Syrian residents and a Saudi citizen in Jeddah were arrested for selling regulated medical pills and two kilograms of marijuana. They were detained, faced legal actions, and were referred to the public prosecution.
Furthermore, in Jazan, the Border Guard patrols managed to seize 126 kilograms of the drug plant khat being smuggled. The initial legal procedures were completed, and the confiscated items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
Moreover, in the Al-Ardah sector in Jazan, Border Guard patrols arrested four Yemeni individuals for attempting to smuggle 260 kilograms of khat. Initial legal actions were taken against them, and they and the confiscated items were handed over to the authorities.
In the Rabouah sector in Asir, Border Guard patrols detained seven Ethiopian individuals for smuggling 140 kilograms of khat. Similar to the previous cases, initial legal procedures were conducted, and they and the confiscated items were handed over to the authorities.
Authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug trafficking or distribution. They can do so by calling “911” in Mecca, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and “999” in other regions of the Kingdom. Additionally, reports can be made to the General Directorate for Drug Control at “995” or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
