Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan Ink Agreements to Boost Cooperation on Combating Corruption

The Kingdom, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, signed two memoranda of understanding with Uzbekistan, represented by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Anti-Corruption Agency in the capital, Tashkent. The agreements aim to prevent and combat corruption while enhancing mutual cooperation.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mazen Al-Kahmous, the President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority on the Saudi side, and Naumatullo Yoldashev, the Uzbek Prosecutor General, along with Akmal Burhanov, the Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency, and the Saudi Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Youssef Al-Qaher.
The memoranda seek to enhance collaboration in combating cross-border corruption crimes, exchanging information related to corruption offenses, and developing and strengthening the institutional capacity of both parties. Discussions during the visit also focused on ways to enhance mutual cooperation in safeguarding integrity and fighting corruption.
Both sides reviewed the significant measures taken by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority to protect integrity, promote transparency, and combat corruption, as well as Uzbekistan’s experience in this field.
