Tourist guide licenses see a staggering 168% growth by 2024

The Ministry of Tourism has released preliminary data regarding the number of licenses related to tourist guiding activities in various regions and cities of the Kingdom for the year 2024. The data revealed that there were 3,284 tourist guiding licenses issued, showing a 168% increase compared to the 1,221 licenses issued in 2023.
Makkah topped the list of cities and regions in the Kingdom with the highest number of tourist guiding licenses, with 986 licenses issued. Riyadh followed in second place with 665 licenses, while Al-Madinah region came in third with 477 licenses. Tabuk had 337 licenses, the Eastern region had 319 licenses, and Asir had 252 licenses.
The continuous growth in the number of licenses for tourist guiding activities is a result of the Ministry of Tourism’s ongoing efforts to develop and regulate the tourism sector in the Kingdom. The Ministry aims to provide opportunities for Saudi men and women to obtain tourist guiding licenses, enabling them to welcome both local and international tourists to various tourist destinations in the Kingdom. This initiative aligns with the significant progress and continuous growth in the number of international and domestic tourists visiting the Kingdom.
