The Kingdom Signs Multiple Air Transportation Service Agreements

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, recently signed several agreements for air transport services as part of efforts to enhance regional and international cooperation in the civil aviation sector. The aim is to establish regulatory frameworks for air transport and to enhance aviation safety and security standards, while also increasing options available to passengers.
This took place during the participation in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Global Air Transport Facilitation Conference “FALC 2025” in Doha, Qatar, from April 14-17, under the theme “Facilitating the Future of Air Transport: Cooperation, Efficiency, and Inclusivity.” The event was organized by Qatar’s General Authority of Civil Aviation in collaboration with ICAO, with the participation of 190 countries, and more than 120 transport ministers and civil aviation authority heads from around the world.
The agreements included the signing of an air services agreement by His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, with the Republic of Liberia and Grenada. Additionally, a record of discussions in the field of air transport was signed with Samoa and Fiji to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom and several countries participating in the conference. This aims to expand the network connectivity and enable the operation of air transport services, while establishing regulatory frameworks for air transport in a safe and organized manner in line with the principles laid out in the 1944 International Civil Aviation Chicago Convention. Furthermore, there was the signing of an air services agreement with Ecuador, represented by the General Authority’s Deputy Executive Director of Air Transport and International Cooperation, Ali bin Mohammed Rajab.
The conference saw bilateral meetings between the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and aviation authorities worldwide, including the Minister of Transport in Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, the Director-General of Civil Aviation in the United Arab Emirates, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Minister of Civil Aviation in Egypt, Pilot Dr. Sameh Ahmed Zaki El-Hefnawi, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Civil Aviation in Syria, Ashhad Al-Salibi, the Minister of Transport in Yemen, Abdul Salam Saleh Hameed, the President of the African Civil Aviation Conference, Florence Serge Dzota, the Minister of Transport in Seychelles, Anthony Derjac, and the President of the European Civil Aviation Conference, Dr. Alessio Quaranta.
During these meetings, ways to enhance mutual cooperation and develop strategic partnerships to enhance aviation safety, security, and facilitation in the civil aviation sector were discussed.
