US Energy Secretary Applauds Saudi Arabia’s Solar Energy Resources, Emphasizes Importance of Encouraging Investment Between Nations

In a recent statement, the American Minister of Energy, Chris Wright, expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, and to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Energy Minister, for their support in promoting energy cooperation between the two countries. This appreciation was conveyed during a press conference at the Energy Ministry in Riyadh, as part of his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During his visit, discussions revolved around energy cooperation, with a focus on investments, trade, energy security, and collaboration in all major energy sources including renewable energies like green hydrogen and solar energy. The importance of long-term energy investments to meet the growing global demand was also emphasized.

Minister Wright also highlighted the economic policies of the United States under President Donald J. Trump, which emphasized fair trade, bringing back jobs to America through tariffs and promoting local investment. He underscored the role of current oil prices in supporting investments in essential and vital minerals.

Commending Saudi Arabia for its abundant solar energy resources, and its effective and strategic development of energy resources, the Minister emphasized the importance of encouraging investments between the two countries to enhance long-term energy supplies. He stressed that the world needs more energy, which takes time to develop, and planning energy investments should span decades.

Furthermore, Minister Wright pointed out that political changes in the United States will lead to faster economic growth between the two countries and globally through extensive investments in energy and its infrastructure to achieve future prosperity.
