King Abdulaziz International Airport breaks operational records during peak Umrah season 1446AH, serving 5.3 million passengers.

During the peak Umrah season, King Abdulaziz International Airport achieved record operational numbers by receiving and saying goodbye to 5.3 million passengers from the first day of Ramadan until the seventh day of Shawwal 1446. The CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, Mazen bin Mohammed Johar, highlighted the precise execution of operational plans during this year’s Umrah peak season. This contributed to speeding up the pilgrims’ procedures and reducing the waiting time in the processing area in line with the increasing growth of pilgrims arriving to perform Umrah through the airport lounges. The King Abdulaziz International Airport successfully handled 5.3 million passengers through 31.5 thousand flights, with 6.4 million bags being processed.

Johar credited the successful completion of the airport’s operational plans to the grace of Allah and the wise leadership’s directives, continuous monitoring from the Ministry of Transport and Logistical Services, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and the CEO of Airport Holding Company. These entities continuously oversee the quality of services provided to the pilgrims at the airport. He also praised the efforts of all airport personnel, emphasizing the collaborative work system and the team spirit that ensures the best service for the guests of the Merciful.
