Drug enforcement and border patrol in Najran, Asir, Jazan, and the Eastern Province successfully thwart attempts to traffic a variety of illicit substances.

The General Directorate for Drug Control arrested two citizens in the Najran region for trafficking the drug amphetamine. They were detained, legal actions were taken against them, and they were referred to the public prosecution. Additionally, the General Directorate for Drug Control apprehended a Syrian resident in the Eastern region for trafficking 1,196 amphetamine tablets. He was also arrested, legal actions were initiated against him, and he was referred to the public prosecution.

Furthermore, the Border Guard patrols in the Ruba area of Aseer region arrested three Ethiopian nationals for violating the border security system by smuggling 45 kilograms of khat. Initial legal procedures were completed against them, and they were handed over along with the confiscated items to the relevant authorities. Additionally, the Border Guard patrols in the Areda sector of Jazan region thwarted the smuggling of 120 kilograms of khat and completed the initial legal procedures, handing over the confiscated items to the appropriate authorities.

Authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information regarding drug trafficking activities by contacting 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern region, and 999 in other regions of the Kingdom. Reports can also be made to the General Directorate for Drug Control at 995 or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
