احرصوا على الحفاظ على أعمالكم وطهارة عيدكم: المؤمن يستمر في عبادة الله ويواصل السير نحو الحق

Today, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Awad Al-Juhani delivered the Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, emphasizing the importance of piety and devotion to Allah. He urged Muslims to draw closer to Allah through obedience and to avoid actions that provoke His displeasure. He highlighted that piety (taqwa) is fundamental to all matters and serves as the essence of faith. The Sheikh reminded attendees that Allah is omniscient, aware of both concealed and manifest actions, and must be venerated as the singular deity worthy of worship.

Dr. Al-Juhani elaborated on the significance of this day, marking both the weekly Friday prayer and the annual Festival of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha). He described Friday as the “bright day” and noted that the Day of Sacrifice is particularly revered because of its association with numerous acts of pilgrimage, including the stoning of the devil, the sacrificial slaughtering of animals, and the rites performed during Hajj.

Moreover, he called upon the pilgrims to maintain tranquility, abide by protocols, and adopt a gentle demeanor while accommodating others. The Sheikh warned against unnecessary noise and disruption, urging attendees to respect the sanctity of the Holy City and to avoid harm to fellow pilgrims. He cited the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who articulated the importance of worship through prayer, fasting, and obedience to authoritative figures, emphasizing the profound sanctity of the Day of Sacrifice and the respect that must be accorded to Mecca.

Dr. Al-Juhani passionately urged the congregation to practice restraint and courtesy, advising them against creating disturbances that could distress others. He referenced a verse from the Quran, reinforcing the notion of respecting fellow believers and abstaining from causing harm. He concluded by urging worshippers to reflect on their intentions, emphasizing the necessity of sincerity when approaching Allah, devoid of ostentation or arrogance.

As the sermon unfolded, Dr. Al-Juhani extended gratitude for the unique spiritual experiences afforded to those gathered for Hajj, recognizing their collective reverence and unity in faith. He expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the authorities in ensuring a seamless pilgrimage experience, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Additionally, he noted the generous initiative by the Saudi King to host several Palestinian families, particularly those of martyrs and prisoners, allowing them to perform Hajj this year. This act of solidarity is seen as a continuation of efforts to support and uplift the cause of Palestine. The Sheikh emphasized that the essence of the Muslim community is unity in faith and action, reminding all believers to hold firmly together and not to be divided.

At the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Bari bin Awad Al-Thubaiti also delivered a potent sermon that reiterated the significance of carrying out righteous deeds. He urged Muslims not to underestimate any good deed, regardless of its perceived size. Such acts, he explained, are critical, as Allah rewards all efforts and does not disregard the contributions of those who perform good deeds.

Sheikh Al-Thubaiti began by calling on the congregation to fear Allah, framing piety as the cornerstone of all goodness and a pathway to success. He emphasized that faithful action is the hallmark of true belief, and from it flows tranquility and fulfillment in life. The Sheikh guided the congregation, highlighting various forms of righteous actions, including prayer, charity, and moral conduct toward families and society.

He reassured that the rewards of good deeds extend beyond the afterlife, manifesting in peace of mind, societal favor, and security in life’s tribulations. Encouraging his audience to remain steadfast in their righteous deeds throughout the year, he cited the Prophet’s teachings on the enduring nature of good actions. He warned against negligence, especially concerning spiritual practices during peak seasons of devotion.

Finally, he prayed for the safety of the pilgrims and invoked Allah’s mercy on the nation of Palestine, pleading for an end to their suffering and restoration of peace and dignity. The sermon concluded with a call for unity among Muslims, urging them to support one another and live up to the true tenets of their faith.
