تعزيز الروابط التجارية العالمية: ميناء جدة الإسلامي يطلق خدمة الشحن ‘5CX’

The General Authority for Ports, known as “Mawani,” has introduced a new shipping service dubbed “5CX,” operated by SeaLead, at the Islamic Port of Jeddah. This initiative significantly enhances maritime connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the global market, while simultaneously bolstering national exports and reinforcing the competitive edge of the port.
The inaugural shipping service establishes connections between the Islamic Port of Jeddah and 10 regional and international ports. These include key ports in China such as Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, and Nansha, as well as Damietta in Egypt. Additionally, the service connects to Turkish ports such as Aleyaja, Izmit, Istanbul, and Mersin, and extends to Klang in Malaysia. The new service boasts a substantial capacity, capable of accommodating up to 1,500 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
This development aligns with Mawani’s strategic efforts to improve Saudi Arabia’s position in global performance indicators while enhancing operational efficiencies at the Islamic Port of Jeddah. These enhancements are intended to facilitate the flow of both exports and imports within the nation. The initiative complements the goals set forth in the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, aiming to establish Saudi Arabia as a pivotal global logistics center and a major hub connecting three continents.
Notably, the Islamic Port of Jeddah holds the distinction of being the foremost port in the Red Sea, attributed to its strategic location and its impressive infrastructure, including 62 multi-purpose berths. Its significant standing on both regional and global levels contributes greatly to reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s leadership role in the maritime sector.
The introduction of the 5CX shipping service is expected to have a transformative impact on trade dynamics, promoting seamless logistics and enhancing the efficiency of supply chains. By forging stronger ties with various global shipping lanes, the port can ensure expedited services, improving turnaround times for vessels and facilitating quicker access to international markets for Saudi products.
As the world adjusts to evolving trade conditions, initiatives like the 5CX service position Saudi Arabia favorably, providing local exporters with enhanced access to critical trade routes. This service not only represents an investment in infrastructure but also reflects a commitment to fostering economic growth through international collaboration.
Furthermore, the capabilities of the Islamic Port of Jeddah allow it to handle a diverse range of cargo types, thereby accommodating various market needs. Such versatility in operations, combined with the increased shipping options available through the new service, is likely to attract more international shipping lines, creating a more competitive and diversified maritime landscape.
In conclusion, Mawani’s introduction of the 5CX shipping service signifies a vital step toward reinforcing the Islamic Port of Jeddah’s standing as a central maritime gateway. This development not only enhances maritime logistics but also plays a crucial role in supporting the Kingdom’s broader economic ambitions and its vision of becoming a comprehensive logistics hub, linking key markets across the globe.
