King Salman Relief Program Concludes Seven Medical Volunteer Projects in Damascus

Successful Completion of Medical Volunteer Projects by King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center in Damascus
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has successfully concluded a series of seven medical volunteer projects in Damascus, Syria, held from May 17 to May 24, 2025. This initiative was part of the Saudi Arabia Volunteer Program "Hope," aimed at providing support to our Syrian brothers and sisters. The program involved the active participation of 86 volunteers from diverse medical specialties.
These medical projects addressed a broad spectrum of healthcare services, including adult cardiac surgery and catheterization, orthopedics and joint surgery, prosthetic fitting and rehabilitation, pediatric surgery, pediatric urology, and initiatives aimed at combating blindness and its underlying causes.
During this campaign, the volunteer medical team managed to serve approximately 800 individuals in need. They distributed 800 pairs of eyeglasses, fitted 61 prosthetic limbs, and repaired another 19. Additionally, the team provided 50 electric wheelchairs and facilitated physical therapy sessions benefiting 58 individuals. Moreover, 865 patients received specialized medical care through various clinics, and 203 participants attended workshops and medical lectures designed to enhance healthcare knowledge and skills within the community.
The medical team performed an impressive total of 749 specialized surgical procedures, all of which were completed successfully, reflecting the high level of expertise and dedication within the team. These efforts underscore the commitment of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to provide essential medical assistance to the Syrian population amid ongoing crises and hardships.
