The meeting commenced with insights from Saudi national team manager Saleh Al-Daoud and head coach Herve Renard. They presented a comprehensive timeline for the national team’s upcoming activities. This program includes two crucial qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Bahrain and Australia, as well as preparations for participation in the CONCACAF Gold Cup hosted in the United States and Canada from June 14 to July 6. Additionally, the Saudi team is set to take part in the FIFA Arab Cup, which will take place in Qatar from December 1 to December 18, with the draw for the tournament scheduled for this coming Sunday.

In a bid to enhance the organizational structure, the board has approved the establishment of a Rewards and Nominations Committee, comprising members such as Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Afliq, Abdullah bin Faisal Hamad, Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Khudairy, and Adel bin Mohammed Malawi. The formation of this committee underscores the federation’s commitment to recognizing talent and fostering competitiveness within the sport.

Furthermore, the board has concurred with the Professional and Player Conditions Committee’s proposal regarding the timelines for player registration periods for the upcoming season. This decision is vital for ensuring that clubs are well-prepared and can strategically secure new talents during the registration windows.

The board also acknowledged a proposal from the Women’s Football Administration aimed at preparing female athletes participating in the 2025-2026 sports season. This supportive initiative reflects the federation’s ongoing efforts to promote and develop women’s football in Saudi Arabia, furthering gender equality in sports.

During the meeting, Saudi Football Players Association President Mohammed Al-Sahli presented a review of the association’s activities over the past year, highlighting key programs planned for this year. His insights provide a glimpse into the efforts being made to enhance the welfare and engagement of football players in the country.

Additionally, the board has approved updates to the operational framework of coaching staff in clubs based on studies presented by the technical department. This decision is expected to streamline coaching practices and strengthen the overall competitive environment within the league.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation continues to take proactive steps toward developing football at all levels, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for both male and female athletes. By prioritizing strategic initiatives and aligning scheduling effectively, the board aims to elevate the national football scene and ensure that Saudi Arabia remains a formidable force in international football.
