Ministry of Interior Cracks Down on Scammers with Fake Pilgrimage Campaigns

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Security, has apprehended a number of individuals involved in fraudulent activities related to advertising fake and misleading Hajj campaigns on social media. They claimed to provide accommodation, transportation for pilgrims within the holy sites, performing Hajj on behalf of others, securing and distributing sacrificial animals to guests, and selling Hajj bracelets.

The ministry stated that the fraudsters have been arrested, legal actions have been taken against them, and they have been referred to the Public Prosecution.

The ministry also clarified that domestic pilgrims can obtain Hajj permits through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s “Nasik” platform, while foreign pilgrims can get Hajj visas through the relevant authorities in the Kingdom by integrating with the unified digital platform for issuing Hajj permits, “Tasrih Platform.”

Regarding the sale and marketing of sacrifice bonds, sacrificial animals, redemption, and charity on behalf of Hajj pilgrims, the ministry confirmed that the Saudi Project for Utilization of Sacrifice and Sacrificial Animals is the official authority responsible for this. These services can be purchased or tracked through the link adahi.org. The unified number 920020193 has been allocated for inquiries and tracking requests.

The Ministry of Interior urged citizens and residents interested in performing the Hajj rituals to comply with the regulations and instructions of the Hajj. They encouraged reporting any violations by calling “911” in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and “999” in the rest of the Kingdom.
