Border Guard patrols in Jazan and Asir regions thwart smuggling of 328 kilograms of narcotic qat plant

Border patrol units in the Al-Dayer sector in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, have apprehended 10 Ethiopian nationals for smuggling 162 kilograms of khat. Preliminary legal procedures have been taken against them, and they have been handed over to the relevant authorities along with the confiscated items. Additionally, the patrols thwarted an attempt to smuggle 126 kilograms of khat in the same area, with the necessary legal procedures followed and the seized items delivered to the authorities.
Furthermore, in the Al-Raboua sector in Asir, border patrols detained three Yemeni nationals for attempting to smuggle 40 kilograms of khat. Similar legal actions were initiated against them, and they were handed over, along with the seized items, to the appropriate authorities.
Authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information regarding drug trafficking activities by contacting 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, and 999 or 994 in other areas of the kingdom.
