وزارة الصحة تنبه الحجاج بضرورة تجنب التعرض المباشر لأشعة الشمس وارتفاع درجات الحرارة

The Ministry of Health has issued a warning to pilgrims at the Holy Mosque regarding the dangers of direct sunlight exposure and heat stress, which can pose significant health risks and hinder the timely completion of their pilgrimage rituals. To prioritize the health and safety of these blessed guests, the Ministry emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures to avoid heat-related illnesses, particularly heat stroke that can arise from elevated temperatures.
Pilgrims are advised to utilize umbrellas while moving between religious sites and to remain hydrated by drinking water regularly—even if they do not feel thirsty. Wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing is also recommended to minimize heat absorption.
The Ministry detailed symptoms that may indicate heat stress, including headaches, dizziness, excessive sweating, extreme thirst, and nausea. It stressed the critical need for immediate action upon noticing any of these signs. Pilgrims should seek shade, cool their bodies with water, and increase their fluid intake to mitigate potential health complications.
Furthermore, the Ministry warns against direct sun exposure from 10 AM to 4 PM, advising the use of umbrellas during these peak hours. It also urges caution regarding walking on hot surfaces and climbing hills or elevated areas during the Day of Arafah, as such activities can lead to severe physical strain and heighten the risk of heat stress.
The health system is fully prepared to manage heat stress cases effectively, with equipped beds set up at over 34 field health units strategically located around the holy sites. This initiative aims to provide rapid medical care for affected individuals, ensuring a quick response that enhances the safety of pilgrims during their performance of religious duties.
In conjunction with these precautions, the Ministry has launched a comprehensive health awareness kit specifically designed for the Hajj season. This kit serves as a holistic advisory reference and is available in eight languages to ensure all pilgrims can access the information. It encompasses a complete range of health guidelines focused on enhancing prevention efforts, ultimately supporting the health and well-being of pilgrims during their spiritual journey.
The Ministry of Health remains dedicated to delivering integrated healthcare and preventive services to the guests of the Sacred House through an advanced field system comprised of well-equipped units and qualified medical staff capable of responding promptly to various emergencies. Moreover, the Ministry continues to intensify health awareness efforts among pilgrims to promote preventive behaviors, thereby contributing to their health maintenance and enabling them to perform their rites with ease and peace of mind in a safe and supportive environment throughout the duration of their pilgrimage.
By ensuring these critical health measures are communicated and implemented, the Ministry aims to enhance the overall experience for the pilgrims, thereby fostering a safer and healthier atmosphere during this significant spiritual undertaking. The commitment to safeguarding the health of all participants underlines the Ministry’s pivotal role in supporting the religious and cultural practices associated with Hajj.
